Trump Administration Launch of Trump Gold Card Program

Key Point

  • The U.S. government has introduced the Trump Gold Card, a new immigration pathway offering expedited residency through investment

Gold Card Launched

On December 10, 2025, the Trump administration announced the official launch of the Trump Gold Card program, creating a fast‑track option for foreign nationals to obtain U.S. permanent residency.

Applicants may qualify by completing DHS vetting and contributing $1 million to the U.S., along with a non-refundable processing fee of $15,000. Employers can also sponsor employees through the Corporate Gold Card, which requires a $2 million contribution per employee plus the DHS fee. Applicants can include spouses and unmarried children under 21 in their applications.

Approval Process

Approved applicants will undergo a visa interview and, if successful, receive expedited processing of permanent residency. DHS retains authority to revoke Gold Card status for national security or criminal concerns. A Trump Platinum Card program is also planned, offering up to 270 days of U.S. residence annually without taxation on non‑U.S. income, requiring a $5 million contribution.

About the Gold Card

The Gold Card program was first outlined in an Executive Order earlier in 2025 and later detailed in USCIS guidance through Form I‑140G. It reflects a broader policy shift toward investment‑based immigration, prioritizing economic contributions while tightening other immigration pathways.
